Wayyyyyy back when, I posted an article about a guardsman for Buckingham Palace that decided to add a few steps to his usual routine of patrolling back and forth along his post. Well ever since then nothing has happened. It is the end of the cycle. The news story will lay dormant until something very similar comes up that people will compare the two events. I think it is an example of a small story that they “blew up” a little in order to provide some both some comedic relief, like the Porter in “Macbeth”, and so that even some of the most professional people in the world can still have a little fun.
I will admit that I probably should have picked a better story, but with the constantly changing world that we live in, it probably got buried under all of the other stories out their of things like cats, and people epically failing on tricks, and other assorted nonsense. Alas, this is what will eventually happen to every news story. Serving as the precedent for others to compare to until the next one comes along to replace it. All good things must come to an end though. Just like this.
