Quite easily one of the greatest books I have ever read. For some reason this was one of my favorite parts of 8th grade. Anyways, they made this into a movie, which was shown at the HUB yesterday evening at 10pm. It was the first time that I had gone to a HUB movie. They are every week Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at varying times. Last week was Guardians of the Galaxy, and the week before that was Lucy. The genre changes and isn’t thematic in the conventional sense, so every week has potential for a fantastic movie. This one was one of the fantastic ones. I was dreading going to see it because I loved the book so much. I thought that they’d take too much creative liberty with it, and they did, but it was done so tastefully that it didn’t take away from the point of the movie and stayed true to the book. There were scenes within the book that were very sense specific, meant to create images in your head, and in order to “help” the viewer, filmmakers made the memories more than just one memory, but flashes of memories that represented a key concept. Anyways, phenomenal book that everyone should read and a movie that should come AFTER.
